This is a free event sponsored by the Peachtree Corners Photography Club, open to anyone from beginners to pros. What to bring: Bring your DSLR or mirrorless camera and your favorite lens like a 50mm prime lens, or a zoom lens that includes the 50mm focal length (like a 24-70mm). Smartphones are welcome too!

For this workshop we will get very creative. We will have over 15 tables set up to help you sharpen your skills in tabletop photography and bring home some interesting shots for your portfolio.
We will have also have several “blank” workspace with lots of props and lights where you can create your own still life. You can even bring an item (like a keepsake) from home and set up your own creative still life.
What to bring:
Your camera with a lens like a 50mm prime lens, or a zoom lens that includes the 50mm focal length (like a 24-70mm). If you have one, a macro lens would also be fun to try. A tripod is recommended.
Smartphone cameras can also work very well on the still lifes that use natural or continuous lighting. So if you only have a smartphone, don’t be shy and come join us!

Different types of backgrounds and where to get them.
The kind of props that work well in a still life.
Many fun tips and tricks for making creative still lifes.
The importance of lighting in creating still lifes, and how to shape and control light.
Natural vs. continuous vs. strobes
Cross-Lighting
Use of fill cards and flags
Camera settings and lenses for still lifes.
While there will be some formal instruction and demonstrations, most of the time will be spent shooting the still lifes that have been set up for you, and creating your own still lifes from props available and that you bring yourself.
Parking
Please park on the left side of the building and enter through the side door. Parking is free.
Follow the Event signs and enter the building through the North side entrance.
