The Beauty Of Rust
Thank you for inviting me to speak to your group. I wish I could be there personally and even live on Zoom. While you are watching the program I should be landing in Ushuaia and on my way to running a 10-day Antarctica Photography Workshop.
I love sharing my work and teaching and inspiring others. I have been fortunate enough in my career to have traveled to every continent and just about any place in the world a photographer could wish to visit. Along the way I have created numerous projects on a variety of topics. I am very excited to share with you for the first time a project I have been working on for the last 20 years. RUST, it’s something that has amazed me for a long time and has been a focus of my photography wherever I travel. RUST tells a story and you want to know more. Before it was RUST what was it? What did it do? How long did it take to get to this condition of RUST.
RUST is its own abstract. Rust can be as small as a bolt or screw or as big as a building. It’s fascinating to me and gives a photographer many chances to see things differently. It takes many photographers out of their comfort zone and forces them to see things that are in front of them but that they didn’t realize.
I look forward to sharing my collection of RUST images and show you how often you find RUST around you. I’ll also share a bit about post processing RUST images and printing them.
Photography has been my passion and career for over 52 years. Some people I know that like
photography talk about burnout. Not me, everyday I find new ways to enjoy photography and have enough projects on my list to last me the rest of my life.
I hope you find this talk as well as my sites motivation and inspiration for your photography.
