About Kaylinn Gilstrap:

Kaylinn Gilstrap

Kaylinn Gilstrap grew up in a small ranching community in Colorado, where she began exploring photography through the local 4-H chapter. She continued her education at the Art Institute of Colorado and then worked with photographers nationwide to hone her craft. The landscape she was raised in continues to inspire her personal work. From 2005-2009, she worked with PCEOC (Piñon Canyon Expansion Opposition Coalition), a grassroots organization, to document families and private landowners who opposed the expansion of an army base by half a million acres. In 2022, she created the Rural Art Show in her hometown, turning an unused building into a temporary art space to encourage community between area artists and her broadening art community. Along with showcasing work she created in the area, she gave tours and talks to area students to encourage the development of creativity in everyday life. Her personal work focuses on the human experience, resource depletion, and the struggles of agricultural life.

Kaylinn works as a commercial photographer out of Atlanta, focusing on portraiture and storytelling. Her client list includes The Bitter Southerner, Getty Images, CNN, Cisco, and Georgia Tech.
