The June Technical Webinar speaker will be David Schilling and the topic will be “Photopainting”. The webinar is scheduled for Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 6:30 pm.
David will demonstrate how to do photopainting from the beginning all the way to the end, step-
by-step, using several example photos. By the end of the Webinar, you will be able to take one of your own photos and turn it into a painting yourself!
Impressionists such as Monet, Renoir, Degas and Cezanne have always inspired David, and he has became interested in trying to print photographic images in the style of impressionist paintings. David used different types of film and filters along with different printing mediums but was never satisfied with the results. When digital photography with computer editing became available, a new realm of possibilities were opened for him. Even with artistic filters and painting software, he felt there was still something missing. David then learned how to create realistic painting effects.

About David Schilling
David began his photography business, Schilling Photography, in 1983 creating images for a variety of magazine editors, art directors, graphic designers and business owners. Over the years, He successfully incorporated the evolution of photography from film to digital along with the amazing capabilities of computer editing. This gave him great joy in the creative process of the assignment work that he produced. And as a bonus, while traveling with his wife, he began building a portfolio of stock photography that includes a wide range of images.
David says, “The sense of accomplishment I get when taking a great photograph still motivates and inspires me.”
