Shooting the Moon … the Stars and the Sky

with Daniel Herron

Daniel is the Second Vice President (Observing Chairman) of the Atlanta Astronomy Club.  A visual observer at first, he slowly made his way into astrophotography by combining his two hobbies of photography and astronomy.  He has had several of his images published in college text books, DVD Astronomy classes, and also selected as NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the day and Earth Science picture of the day.  Some of his highlights are imaging the Space Shuttle Launches, 2008 and 2010 Transit of Venus, and the 2017 Solar Eclipse.  Daniel loves sharing and teaching these hobbies to others, or as he calls it “teaching his future competition”.

“How Critiques Can Sharpen Your Photo Skills!”

Come and hear our newly-elected President, Tracey Rice, give a presentation on how to give and receive critiques.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand what a critique is and how it differs from criticism or general “feedback.”
  2. Learn the basics of an effective critique that you can use to evaluate your own photos or to help your fellow photogs improve their photos in a friendly way.
  3. Practice giving and receiving critiques.
