Our December speakers will be Jim Stone and George Hunter
on the topic “Flash Photography”.

Flash Photography

Photography is a Greek word and literally means to “draw with light.”  As photographers, we craft images by shaping the light on our subject.  Regardless of the nature of the light source origin, we must take control of it by shaping, adding, or subtracting light to create drama and impact.  As my wife and I progressed in our professional photography career it became evident that mastering flash and studio strobe photography and the tools to modify it would be key to our success both commercially and artistically.  What we did not realize when we began this journey was how much fun and rewarding it would be to explore the world of studio lighting.  When you take the time to learn the basics of lighting composition your flash photography images can go from that dreaded “deer in headlights” look to “dramatic diva.”
